No one will stop OU from going to the SEC if the SEC doesn't also invite OSU. No one will stop KU from going to the B1G because they didn't also invite KSU. Forcing both to stay in a dying conference will hurt both schools and leave hundreds of millions of dollars on the table in funding by doing so.

Board members have day jobs. They're usually C level execs or other influencers who won't care if they're threatened with removal, given the stakes at hand in losing a seat in what may end up being the last wave of major realignment.
